Ms. Melisa Yilmaz

Melisa Yilmaz holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies from Istanbul Bilgi University and completed part of her graduate studies in Sociocultural Studies at European University Viadrina in Germany. She also holds bachelor’s degrees in Theatre Criticism and Psychology from Istanbul University. Her research focuses on epistemic violence, conceptual reappropriation, and digital humanities, with particular attention to marginalized voices in climate and urban contexts. She has presented her work at international conferences and published on counter-rhetorical strategies and resistance narratives. Her recent work explores waste pickers in Türkiye as subjects of epistemic injustice and urban memory.
