Dr. George Cremona

A senior lecturer and Coordinator for German programmes

Presentation Topic: Learning from unbelievably ‘normal’ human stories. Insights from an educational ethnographic multimodal research project

Dr. George Cremona lectures in German language teaching methodology and gives lectures about Multimodality. He also coordinates the Media Literacy VET Programmes of the Faculty of Education. Dr. Cremona is also the Faculty of Education Erasmus Coordinator.

He has been a member of the faculty since 2009. In 2015 he completed his PhD at the UCL – Institute of Education. In 2007 he was awarded a Masters in Comparative Education from the University of Malta. He collaborates actively with various German schools on a number of projects related to Comparative Education and Foreign Language teaching. He has also participated in an international project on intercultural communication (2009-2011).

Currently (since January 2012) he is also working on a research project series called ‘Multimodality in Practice’. This project aims to implement Multimodal concepts and theories in practice particularly in schools and through the media (i.e., radio programmes, tv programmes and the internet). For this, in 2017, 2019 and 2020 he was awarded the prestigious IGM national award.

In 2009 he scripted and published a 13-week German for beginners’ course – for TV and also available online – which later was nationally recognized as the best educational TV series of the year.

Zorana Šuljug Vučica

An Associate Professor of Sociology at Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University in Split (Croatia).

Presentation Topic: Studying communication and interaction in the family environment from a sociological perspective

Zorana Šuljug Vučica teaches and publishes scientific works dealing with methodology of social sciences, sociology of media, sociology of language, sociology of youth, etc. She is a coauthor of three scientific books and thirty scientific papers.
She participated in more than twenty international scientific conferences and was a collaborator on several sociological and interdisciplinary projects.
She is currently the Vice Dean for teaching and student affairs at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split. She is a member of the Croatian Sociological Society.

Dr. Zsófia Biró

University of Pécs, Faculty of Law

Presentation Topic: Law and Education; Modern Teaching Techniques in Legal Courses

Dr. Zsófia Biró holds a PhD in Law and she is an energy market economist as well. Her main fields of research within Energy Law are energy communities, EV charging networks and hydrogen regulation. Dr. Biró is a member of the Technology Law and Energy Law Department at the University of Pécs, Faculty of Law and Secretary of the Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Pécs: 10th Section of Earth and Environmental Sciences: Committee on Renewable Energy Sources.
